At the northern end of Tuscany, in a stretch of territory that is flanked by Liguria to the west and Emilia Romagna to the east, is a land of historic castles, baroque villas and charming churches; a land of beautiful hill-top villages, surrounded by vineyards, olive groves and wildflower meadows; a land set against the soaring ridges of the Apennine mountains to one side, and the dramatic, jagged peaks of the Alpi Apuane to the other; a land of romance, peace and magical tranquility.
Our beautiful area includes Aulla, Bagnone, Casola, Comano, Filattiera, Fivizzano, Fosdinovo, Licciana Nardi, Mulazzo, Podenzana, Pontremoli, Tresana, Villafranca, Zeri and, not on the map, Minucciano (page in the pipeline)

We have created a separate page for each of the Lunigiana villages giving some interesting history and information. Wherever possible, we have included a selection of our personally recommended places to stay, a selection of local walks and a link to the website of each Comune (Town Hall).
